[#005] My First Billion: Systems, Scale & Strategic Moves

This week’s been all about operationalizing what we’ve been building behind the scenes…

From team shifts and campaign revamps…

…to locking in high-leverage partnerships and content systems.

Let’s Get 2 It!

Strategic Planning & Ops

  • Kicked off the week with our monthly strategic planning call with our Co-Founder and Director of Client Success, Aundrae, and our Director of Operations, Bianca.
    • While many do annual planning, we run on a 12Q planning model (12 quarters at a time), then do monthly sprint sessions.
    • These used to be 4–5 hour marathons. Now they’re 90-minute power sessions. Major growth.
  • The Win: We’re not constantly pivoting.
Small tweaks are all we require now.

Marketing + Launches

  • 1-Day Marketing School promo is rolling.
Over 800 founders registered so far.
  • Paused Client Attraction Machine ads for rework and relaunch in December.
  • Re-shot modules from the recent 2-Day Intensive and added to the Strategic Scale Institute curriculum and productize in its own offer.
  • Rolled out our Strategic Scale Summit promo as a premium Black Friday alternative.

I don’t usually partake in Black Friday offers…

Because I’m not into discounting and price slashing, however, this was a perfect opportunity.

The tickets are selling out fast, and 90% of the registrants are taking the VIP option.

  • Two funnel launches in final stages:
    Paid Ad Playbook
    Predictable Scale Playbook

Product & Assets

  • While planning relaunch for opt-in funnels to better segment prospects:
    • Lower revenue = redirect to book offer
    • Higher revenue = redirect to call application
  • Evaluating best redirect strategy given current funnel platform constraints.

Sales + Team

  • Chatted with Maisha, our SDR Lead, about stepping into full Sales Leader role. She accepted.
    • Finalizing SOPs and full handoff now.

Partnerships + Expansion

  • Partnership deal is almost finalized, just 3 micro points left.
  • Shared back a revised version and aligned quickly.
  • My rule for negotiation is Everyone wins.
    • I’m not into “tactics” that create resentment.
    • I’m building for equity, longevity, and alignment, not quick cash grabs.

Content + Thought Leadership

  • Shared a post about whether we’re in an “AI Bubble.”
    • Outcome: We’re not. I dove into RecSys (what it is and why you should care)… and the biggest opportunity in AI for biz owners.
    • Post didn’t perform as I expected, but the insight’s strong. Maybe it was too dense. We’ll repurpose.
  • Weekly Miseducation of the Christian show is still rolling, all organic and gaining traction.
  • Client coaching calls and new A.I. curriculum went well.

Life + Leadership

  • Thanksgiving was chill, grateful for life, legacy, leadership, and good food.
  • Vanessa and I finished another series (All Her Fault). Wow, what an ending.
  • Onboarding materials being revised this week to match new systems + strategy.
  • Discussing how our annual bootcamps might evolve into a Berkshire-Hathaway style event for founders…

And how members in our community can become LPs of other members… big vision forming. More soon.

Format

We’re keeping this structure going:

  • Clean sections
  • Quick headers
  • Value-packed
  • Reflective and action-oriented

What I’m Reading

Same as last week, nothing new added this week.

And David Perceived He Was King by Dale Mast: A reminder that just because you’re anointed doesn’t mean you’re appointed yet.

This one’s been shifting how I move.

As always, making sure I build with Kingdom at the center.

My Daily Devotionals are:

For my business book…

It Doesn’t Have to Be Crazy at Work from the founders of Basecamp. Big shift in how to think about scale, margin, and sustainability.

Final Insight

You can move fast ("slow is smooth, smooth is fast")
You can move efficiently.
But at scale, you have to do both.

This week was full of quiet breakthroughs:
→ Sharper systems
→ Stronger leadership
→ Better assets
→ More leverage

They may not “look loud.”
But they build billion-dollar empires.
