[#029] My First Billion: They Grow Fast
Wednesday morning I was in the car at 7am heading to RyPie's kindergarten awards Ceremony.
Afterwards, Vanessa wanted Waffle House so we went there, I grabbed a smoothie and we headed back to the school for Royal's 5th grade graduation ceremony at 10:45.
Then at noon I jumped on a live Zoom and demoed our Ai Advertising Executive™ to a room of business owners (more on this in a sec).
Some preach…
“Work life balance”
Some argue that it’s not possible.
I believe in work life integration and believe we can have it all.
That's what I'm optimizing for.
Not revenue per hour or ad spend efficiency.
Presence.
NetLife > Networth!
If I can help it, I never want my kids to look into the audience and I’m not there.
That was my life growing up. My mom could never make it to my school stuff, because she was working.
I get it, I just don’t want that for my kids.
This week I got to watch all three of my boys hit milestones.
Two on the same day. Mj also was invited to a special ceremony Monday to accept his award for A&B Honor Roll…
…and his science teacher reached out to let us know she suggested him for Advanced Science classes.
Now as he heads to 8th grade next year, he’ll be in all advanced classes and he’s up for the challenge.
Here’s the thing…
We don’t even obsess over grades in our house.
They don’t do anything to, “make us proud!”
They know we’re already proud and their performance is for them.
We focus on identity and they operate from that identity and the accolades this week are simply fruit of the tree.
Tuesday, I took Royal to his 6th grade middle school orientation.
My boys are growing up. I remember taking them all to kindergarten.
They grow fast.
And so does everything you're building if you let it.
Speaking of growing...
We launched ads for Launch Your Ads Live this week.
And the early numbers are looking good.
Two orders within 24 hrs. Both took the bump. One took the $497 upgrade. $709 in revenue on $655 in ad spend.
That’s a tiny sample size, but front-end positive on day one of a cold traffic campaign and some of the other leading indicators, tell me the offer resonates.
And I'll be honest... I rewrote all 25 ad copies myself last week.
I’ve been training our Ai Advertising Executive™, so I let it write the 25 ad copies for the campaign using our frameworks.
The first drafts were solid but they read a little "AI-y" (if that's a word).
So I sat down for an hour or so and went through every single one until they sounded like me.
That's the lesson most people miss about Ai.
It doesn't replace your voice.
It gives you a starting point so your voice doesn't start from a blank page.
Wednesday was also our first live demo of the Ai Advertising Executive™.
I took someone's funnel URL and didn’t ask them anything about their business…
And in about 15 minutes built their entire ad campaign.
Avatars, ad copy and creatives.
The room got quiet.
Because most of them have paid agencies $3,000-$5,000 a month for what just happened in 15 minutes from a URL.
That moment confirmed something I've been feeling for a while.
We're not building another coaching program.
We're building something that changes how coaches operate.
And on the portfolio side...
My partner Christon (The Truth) closed Play By Play Media's first NIL deal this week.
That's the NIL consulting firm we’re building in the portfolio.
It’s still early, but the first deal always means the most because it proves the model works.
On the health side...
I started a new discipline this week.
No eating at least 3 hours before bed.
Simple, but it's already helped with sleep, late-night snacking, and calorie intake.
Sometimes the smallest adjustment creates the biggest shift.
Just one variable. We talked about this in last week’s issue.
Monday I took the boys to Cub Scouts (Royal goes into Boy Scouts now) after some meetings and deep work.
Tuesday I coached clients then drove to orientation.
Wednesday was the awards and the demo.
Thursday was content day and headed to see my nephew graduate high school (it was a close one for him lol).
It was a full week, but not a draining one.
Because everything on that list was something I chose.
And that's the difference between being busy and building.
If you're in a season where the pace feels intense... check in with yourself.
Are you running toward something you chose?
Or away from something you're avoiding?
The answer can change everything.
It did for me.
Tell those you love that you love them.
