[#031] My First Billion: Live from Spain
I flew to Spain Wednesday morning with my 12-year-old Mj.
The architecture here is incredible, especially the Moorish stuff.
The Moors were Muslims from northern Africa who conquered and occupied parts of Spain for nearly 800 years.
And they built things like…
Really built things.
Palaces, mosques, irrigation systems and Mathematical frameworks that Europe later stole to build what we now call "Western civilization."
These weren't buildings designed to last a decade or survive a trend cycle.
They were built to stand after their builders were gone.
And a thousand years later… they're still standing.
I'm walking through all of this, jet-lagged, 6 hours ahead of most people reading this…
…and I can't stop thinking about legacy.
Not the Instagram version of it.
Not the "I want to be remembered" version of it.
The “what’s the legacy I’m living now,” version.
What are you building that will outlast the season you're in?
Because most of us (myself included at different points) can get caught up in the next launch.
The next enrollment.
The next campaign.
The next quarter.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
But the Moors weren't building for next quarter.
They were building infrastructure and systems that could & grow far beyond them.
That's what I've been focused on this year.
Not just building a business…
But building something that has true enterprise value, builds wealth for my family even if I decide to shut my business down…
… and doesn't collapse when I'm in Spain with my son.
Something to think about this week…
What is your definition of legacy?
Hit reply and lmk. I read all replies.
Tell those you love that you love them.
