[#035] My First Billion: Had to check my ego
This has been one of those weeks where everything just flows.
I want to walk you through it, not to flex…
But because I think there's something inside of what's been happening that can shift how you think about your business.
Let me explain…
We launched ads for our Strategic Scale Sprint Workshop last Friday.
It’s the fastest & simplest path for coaches and consultants to get consistent, qualified leads that convert into high-ticket clients.
If you want more qualified leads, without relying on ad agencies, check it out.
Anyway…
The initial tracking was off.
Some things weren't firing right in Meta. Typical, if you’re familiar with Meta ads.
The ads were killing it, I just couldn’t tell which ones.
I didn’t panic. I talked with my coach and made adjustments.
That didn't work either.
Ended up going back to the original ads and did a workaround for the tracking and they are still crushing.
38 booked calls this week alone at around $50 per book call.
For context…
We typically tell clients that $150-$200 per booked call is a solid, scalable KPI.
We're sitting at less than half of that.
That's not luck, that's a signal that the offer is doing its job.
But I have a confession…
To get those calls…
I had to get back on the phone myself.
And I had a lot of resistance to it.
My boy Mike actually had to help me reframe my thinking about it
I've learned how to make millions from sales teams I’ve built and events without me doing calls…
So my identity had moved away from doing it.
But when I got honest with myself…
I realized pride had something to do
with it.
Part of me felt “beyond” doing the calls myself. That’s pride.
And it’s ridiculous, because sales convos are one of (if not) THE highest paid things we can do in the business.
I had to check my ego at the door and get back into conversations with the very people I'm built to serve.
And listen… those conversations have been amazing.
Two ideal clients that enrolled last week, onboarded this week and they’re off to a fast start to success.
That tells me the messaging is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
Not attracting everyone, attracting the right ones.
Quality > Quantity
The 4 C's keeping me focused.
As momentum builds, I've been protecting my focus and nervous system like the assets they are.
I’m focused on the 4 C’s…
Content — assets that work while I sleep.
Coaching — serving the people I’m called to.
Calls — quality conversations with those applying
Creating Curriculum & Systems — building what scales without me
That's my whole operating system right now.
If it doesn't fall inside one of those four business buckets, it doesn't get my energy.
One more thing (before I get on my next call)
I went for a walk yesterday and was led to pop on IG Live. Hadn’t done it in so long and wasn’t sure if it was still a feature.
I forgot how much I enjoy those lives.
Stayed on about 30 minutes and would’ve stayed on longer if my phone wasn’t going dead.
And that got me thinking…
What if I hosted a live show every Monday and called it Marketing Mondays.
A live show where we go deep on what's actually working in marketing right now?
No fluff or hype, just live, actionable strategies to…
Generate more qualified leads, better clients, and more profit in your business.
I checked in with my Heavenly Chairman before I ran with it…
Because I know me, and I’m at a season of my life where I don't want to just move, just because something sounds like a good idea…
I need to know it's a God idea.
Stay tuned on that one.
In the meantime, reply and let me know…
Would Marketing Mondays be something you'd tune into?
I read every response.
As we wrap up the first half of the year…
The thing we have to be mindful of…
Momentum is not an excuse to get reckless.
The calendar is full, calls are flowing and clients are enrolling.
And in seasons like this, the temptation is to grind harder, do more, say yes to everything.
But I've been intentional about keeping my nervous system regulated and my mornings slow.
Because the worst thing you can do is let a good season turn you into a version of yourself that’s not aligned.
Stay the course.
Stay intentional.
Stay in peace.
And most importantly, tell those you love, that you love them.
