[#053] My First Billion: this morning's journal

During my quiet time yesterday, I was reading a highlight from Dr. Bill Winston’s book that got me thinking…

And with it being fall, the illustration couldn't have been more fitting.

Just like an acorn, everything you will become is already inside of you.

God is not adding anything anymore; He's developing what's already there.

Think about it…

Inside every acorn is an oak tree.

It's a self-contained unit with all of the necessary elements packaged within.

This is what we call potential.

All of that unrealized, unexposed ability, talent, power, and strength.

It's just waiting to be planted in the right soil.

But here's what's interesting…

A seed can only be planted in one place.

You can't break an acorn into five different pieces, plant them in five different places, and expect five oak trees to grow.

It doesn't work like that.

And yet…

That's exactly what I see so many business owners doing.

They have potential (gifts, talents, and abilities).

But instead of planting that potential in one place…

They keep breaking the seed.

Trying to serve five different audiences.
Selling five different offers.
Pursuing five different opportunities.
Chasing five different strategies.

And then wondering why they're not experiencing the growth they desire.

It's not because they lack potential.

It's because they haven't committed to planting it.

And here's the thing…

Planting is only the beginning.

You still have to cultivate what you've planted.

The seed doesn't need to become something else.

It needs the right soil, water, sunlight, and consistent nurturing over time.

And when those conditions are met…

What was once hidden inside that tiny seed has the potential to become a mighty oak tree.

The same is true of your business.

You don't necessarily need another opportunity, strategy, tactic, software, AI agent, chatbot, offer, or another idea.

You may need to plant what God has already given you, and stay planted long enough for it to grow.

Tell those you love that you love them.
